Industry leaders in innovation

Picture this; a small group of Granite Chief employees huddled around our boot fitting area waiting to hear about the latest and greatest from Smith. The rep walks up, drops a brand new pair of lenses on the ground, and starts stomping on it. You could say they had our attention. What was extremely impressive was that even after several good stomps the lenses were unharmed. You see, most people think of goggles as a way to protect your eyes from the sun. Smith takes it a step further and seeks to also provide protection from impacts. Weather it's a head over heals face slam or a thicker branch than you expected while ripping through the trees, these goggles do the job. Although they don't recommend stomping on your lenses just for fun, it definitely got the point across.

The IO7 is our best selling goggle and it would be impossible to pick just one reason why that is the case. These babies are loaded with great features. The strap latches together in the back making it easy to take on and off with or without a helmet. The ChromaPop lense technology helps you see better in flat light reducing those “oh sh*t” moments when a bump sneaks up on you. Plus the style and design makes this goggle one of the best-looking goggles on the market. (If not the best)

If you are unfamiliar with the term “gapper gap” here’s a quick pointer, don’t have one! A gapper gap is that weird space some people have between their helmet and their goggle, exposing the forehead. You know what we’re talking about right? Well if this is a problem for you or someone you know it can be fixed right away. Smith’s goggles match up so perfectly with their helmets you’d almost think they were built in. That’s not even the best part about these helmets. Smith offers some of the lightest helmets on the market without compromising safety.

It’s always important to protect yourself to the best of your ability when skiing or snowboarding. Do your part and stop by to grab yourself some Smith goggles and a helmet. After all, a helmet and goggles are a lot cheaper than brain damage or eye surgery. Plus your loved ones will be happy to have peace of mind when you're out shredding.
