"Damn, I'm getting old. I've been working with Herb and Treas for over 40 years. I head up the boot department and boot fitting. I've worked with World Cup skiers, big mountain sponsored skiers, as well as our local and weekend warrior skiers. If you're a boot fitter we've got a spot for you. If you want to be a boot fitter or hardgoods sales associate, we'll train you. Granite Chief, it feels like home. Hope you join our team." Gunner Wolf

"I'm a boot fitter and hardgoods sale associate and have been for..... it's been so long that I can't remember when I started. It was back in the original Squaw Valley store, so it's been a good number of years. I'm also a ski tester for Backcountry Gear Guide. I wholeheartedly recommend working at Granite Chief." Darren Pagett
"As a long time, employee, and friend of Granite Chief I’ve meet some of my very favorite friends.
You become a part of a family of passionate skiers and outdoor enthusiasts. One of the things I like about the shop, is the friendly welcoming atmosphere. I worked at Granite Chief all through my school years in Truckee, and UNR. They provide flexible scheduling making it possible for me to also pursue my passion as a level 300 coach at Palisades Tahoe. I no longer work at The Chief, I a new mom, but it’s always a place that feels like home. "

"I move to Truckee 12 years ago to attend UNR. I was hired on to work as a part-time ski tuner. After a couple years I was promoted to Back Shop Manager. My skills as a ski tuner grew and I was picked up by the US Ski Team. After a year, I realized the constant packing up and traveling wasn't for me. I headed back to The Chief. Granite Chief is a great place to learn about tuning, boot fitting, and the ski and outdoor industry. During my time at the shop I made some of my closest ski and adventure friends." Jesse Cassidy

"Over the past three years working at The Chief, my outdoor knowledge soared while working with local legends like Gunner Wolf, and Darren Padgett. Granite Chief is more than a fun place to work, it's a community.
I love Granite Chief and think fondly of memories made while working at the best ski shop in town."  Austyn Harrington
Granite Chief is the perfect fit for me. I'm a Chef by trade, and an outdoor enthusiast. Herb, the owner, has worked with me as I juggle my busy schedule to build my chef business and still make ends meet. Granite Chief is a fun place to work. I'm enjoying my time working with the staff.
“I’ve known Herb and Treas for many years. I started working for them a few winters ago, first in marketing, then as a boot fitter. It has been a good fit for me. I work for Granite Chief in the winter. During the summer I work as a supervisor building mountain bike trails. It’s a great fit for me. They’re flexible with my schedule allowing me to juggle, two jobs, and still get my ski and bike time in.” John Clausen
"Granite Chief was my first job. I worked all through junior high and high school. I'm now studying at the California Maritime Academy. Working at Granite Chief definitely taught me great work ethic, how to work with others, and be a leader. Love this place! I still come back to work during the holidays and summer break." Mia Rathsack
