AJ Hurt has had a passion for skiing ever since she was first brought to the Squaw Valley slopes when she was only two years old. As a local girl to the Squaw Valley Resort, AJ joined the mighty mites ski school team as soon as she was old enough. AJ couldn’t wait to get to ski school every day, which in turn continued to fuel her passion for skiing especially when it came down to racing.

Last season AJ was showing up the older racers when her speed, balance, and coordination during their ski races. In last year’s championships, AJ was one of the top competitors in the Grand Slalom, Parallel Slalom, and in the Super G. Overall, AJ did great competing in many races throughout the 2012-2013 winter season and we’re excited to see what she has in store for us this winter season.

Even though skiing is AJ’s favorite sport and winter is her favorite season, she makes sure she stays active year round in other activities such as soccer, cross-country running, and track. Aside from being the outstanding athlete she is, AJ takes school very seriously and is very involved. This year she is in the jazz ensemble, jazz band, and the concert band. Even though AJ has to constantly find a way to balance all of her activities with school, the fact she has been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA in school is impressive.
