Colleen Healey is a 17 year old high school senior from New Hampshire who has been snowboarding for nine years, is currently training with the Squaw Valley team, and is competing in some of the highest level competitions that snowboarding has to offer today. Healey has always had a deep passion for the sport, and as of today has competed in over 280 local, regional, national, and international competitions.

This last year, Healey made a big step in her snowboarding career and stepped up into competing in internationally-based events such as the US Open, Grand Prix, the North American Cup, and the Chevy Revolution Tour. As one of the youngest women snowboarders in the professional field, Healey has to train hard and stay motivated because the level of competition she is exposed to is made up of hopeful Olympians who are dedicated to winning. At the Grand Prix, a competition made up of the Olympic hopefuls, Healey came in fifth place for the United States women, and ninth place in the overall competition proving it to be a success.

Off the mountain, Healey has proven herself to be an exceptional student and has the ability to manage the pressures of competition and academics together, two activities that many individuals struggle to successfully balance. Here at Granite Chief, we are happy to have Colleen Healey as one of our athletes and can’t wait to see her rip this year!
