Unless you've been living under a rock you have seen or heard of DPS skis. But what's all the rage about? Well after testing them out we realized this is the ultimate California Ski. Many "powder" skis or "all mountain" skis offer a soft-ish flex pattern for surfing through light fluffy snow. But here in California the days of skiing on light fluffy stuff are few and far between. The storm systems we get carry massive amounts of moisture and being closer to the cost the storm doesn't have as much time to get real cold. That being said we get accustomed to skiing some heavy and choppy snow that they seldom see over in Utah and Colorado.

The DPS Difference

So where are we going with this? Due to the nature of DPS's pre-preg carbon fiber, the skis are light and stable. Most importantly they are stiff enough to mash through that California crud. It's something you hear people say about a lot of skis on the market but they all have a significantly less amount of carbon in them. While most companies lay a carbon stringer or a few carbon sheets over a wood core DPS has carbon tip to tail and rail to rail! That's a big difference and that's why the price is can be a bit higher than other skis of similar shape.

R&D Like No One Else

The folks that own and operate DPS are fanatics. They work tirelessly for days on end tweaking and fine tuning there products. These guys make tons of similar skis with only subtle differences then test them back to back. Why? So they can guarantee a perfected product. DPS is true to the term "die-hard skiers" and they carry that relentless attitude into everything they make. If you love skiing more than anything else in the world these skis are designed for you.
