It's crazy to believe that we are already halfway through August. Summer is starting to wrap up but we are in the middle of an intense wildfire season. With strong winds and hot temperatures forecasted throughout the next week, it is imperative that we remain aware of fire hazards.

Just this morning, another fire began near Nevada City off Jones Bar Road forcing evacuations of nearby residents. Also, you may have noticed large smoke plumes to our North which have been coming from a fire out near Loyalton. As of Monday morning, this fire has reached 36,295 acres and is only 5% contained.

Please be careful during this heatwave and watch for any potential fire hazards!
