Zach Bitter & Altra Running Crew Visit Granite Chief and Share Insight | Many Thanks
Ultra Endurance Record Holder Zach Bitter and the Altra Shoes Crew visit Granite Chief Ski & Mtn Shop
Zach Bitter and the Altra Running shoes crew stopped by Granite Chief Ski & Moutain Shop yesterday. A huge Granite Chief thanks to Zach and his posse for leading a trail run, and having Altra shoes on hand for people to try out. "It's not often you have a world and international record holder fit your shoes before a run", noted Jeff, one of the participants. That evening back at Granite Chief, Zach talked about the world of ultra endurance running and his take on the sport. "Zach was super knowledgeable, and great at sharing his expertise", commented Treas and Herb, owners of Granite Chief. That shared information included tips and tricks (not to mention a few surprises) on training, psychology, and nutrition. Another guest, Robbie, said afterwards, "He (Zach) was great, very easy to talk to in a very down to earth manner. You don't always see that from athletes of his stature".
Event Supporters
Many thanks also go out to the Granite Chief raffle supporters including Altra Shoes, Osprey Packs, Ultimate Directions, Petzl, Black Diamond, Outdoor Research, SmartWool, Wigwam, Clif Bar, and Kiss My Face. All of the raffle proceeds from this event benefited the Truckee Trails Foundation. Our favorite raffle winner of the night was the Truckee middle school athlete who is a developing triathlete couldn't have been happier to attend the Q & A with ultra and endurance runner, Zach Bitter. "It was really rewarding to see this young endurance athlete approach Zach with questions, and then come away with a pair of Altra shoes - he just really lit up from inside", grinned Darby, Granite Chief's store manager. At the end of the evening everyone went home stoked with greater insight to ultra endurance running, their fill of tacos, and raffle prizes in hand. Granite Chief wishes Zach Bitter and the Altra Shoes crew all the best in their endeavors ahead, as we do all runners in it for the long haul.
