Truckee Running Festival

The Truckee Running Festival is an event that Granite Chief fully supports. You can sign up for the Big Blue Adventure event the day before at Granite Chief Ski and Mountain Shop in Truckee from 4:00-6:00 p.m.. When you pre-register for the race at Granite Chief, we will give you a $10 Granite Chief Gift Certificate and you’ll avoid the stress of race day registration.
The Truckee running festival will take place at Riverview Park in Truckee Saturday June 7, 2014, with Athlete Check-in and Registration starting at 7:00 a.m.. You can choose from the 5K, 10K, and ½ Marathon distances. This race also has three Kid Races based on ages: 1 mile (10-12 yrs old), ½ mile (6-9 yrs old) and 500 yards (5 and under). The 5K and 10K Adult Races will take place along the Legacy Trail in Truckee, while the ½ Marathon leads through Martis Dam and into Waddle Ranch.
The proceeds from the 5K race go to Girls On The Run, a positive youth development program for girls 3rd through 8th grade whose mission is “to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.”
In addition to the running events, Salomon will be giving racers a chance to demo their new Trail Running Shoes, and cool swag will be given out as well. Make sure to stay after the race and enjoy the BBQ and Live Band.
