Granite Chief Shop Athlete Mia Winans has been stomping lines, and the competition as she travels the world and back again. Here's what she's been up to in an already productive 2015/2016 ski season.

On January 22nd I left for Andorra for Freeride Junior World Championships. After the long travel we skied two days at the resort of Grandvalira and then it was go time. For inspection the next day we hiked 2 miles on the dirt and then about 1 or 2 more on the snow up to the venue. We then hiked up and around the venue to pick out a line. Visual inspection was new to me but I was definitely feeling confident about my landmarks and finding my line. Competition day was filled with tons of excitement. We rode a helicopter from the bottom of the venue to the top and got ready to drop. I wasn't feeling too nervous at the top and I was ready to go. I had a clean fast run and hit the line I had planned. My run ended up getting me fourth place. The skiing and the whole trip were insane.

Coming back to Tahoe I have a new outlook on the sport and many exciting experiences to share. I am also feeling strong about my skiing. My first week back I got some of the leftover powder in the backcountry and then started preparing for my next competition! I competed in the Alpine TJFS last weekend and took home the win. I am so thankful for Granite Chief keeping my ski's tuned and ready and for all the support I've been recieving.
