So you want to hike around Lake Tahoe? Well guess what? You’re going to need a day pack and we got what you need!  Osprey and Black Diamond are our go-to packs this year.

Osprey Stratos and Sirrus

The Stratos and Sirrus are our picks from Osprey. Both have the “Air-Speed” suspension with 3D mesh making the packs some of the most breathable, comfortable packs around. Both these packs are compatible with hydration attachments making this a fantastic all around day pack. Another cool little feature is the stow-away storage for your hiking poles, and there is even a spot for your ice axe if you are on a real adventure. The packs also have an integrated rain cover for the days when you get caught in those totally random sierra storms. But the real icing on the cake is that if need be you can actually strap your touring skis on this pack for all your small side country adventures. The functional waist straps have zippered pockets to store your snacks on the go. In shop we have the Stratos 34 and 24 as well as the Sirrus 24. These packs will without a doubt fulfill your day packing needs. Anyone that knows anything about anyone knows that this is exactly what Jason Smith has for his lovely little excursions up Mt. Rose.
