RUSTLER 11 2019-1

Recommended Use: The Rustler 11 debuted last year, replacing the highly popular “Gunsmoke.” You’ll see many of the top dogs competing on these planks in the freeride world tour and locals shredding gnarly lines at Squaw. However, you don’t have to be a pro to have fun on this ski. Because of its quick edge to edge performance the Rustler 11 is lively and responsive.

Why we like it: The Rustler 11 excels in many conditions, though its main strengths lie in the deep snow and big mountain terrain. “It’s a ski that can go anywhere, and do anything” one of our testers wrote.

Bottom Line: Blizzard hit the sweet spot with the Rustler 11 by creating a ski right in between the stiffness of the Bodacious, and the playfulness of the Gunsmoke. What came of this was a master craft of a ski, with the strength of a bull and the agility of a bullfighting Picador

Profile:  A partial twin tip, rocker camber rocker ski with a medium turning radius. A metal base plate for strength underfoot.

Construction: The Rustler has a unique construction taking on a soft snow approach to building a ski. Staying true to it's Blizzard heritage, this beast uses only quality wood in its core and a blend of ISO-Paulownia-Balsa-Poplar-Beech wood core for a lightweight, yet powerful base, then is finished off with Blizzard's new DRT-Flipcore construction (Dynamic Release Technology). The new DRT is a piece of titanal that tapers towards to tip and tail of the ski, allowing for a more torsional soft tip and tail for a surfy, playful feel. Don't get it twisted though, this ski is still a blizzard at heart, so when we say soft, don't think buttery soft.... think like slightly less ripe avocado soft.
