Black Diamond has combined the best of both worlds with the Tecton creating a lightweight touring binding that performs like an alpine binding on the downhill. The Tecton has an innovative heel-locking lever to provide serious power transfer and security you would expect in a typical alpine binding. This binding also features a lateral saftey release that allows it it be set for specific release forces, which adds extra safety while in the backcountry!
